Welcome to our very first blog post, where we’d like to introduce the faces behind Camping Les Ecolodges des 3 Lacs to you. But let’s not forget who the real stars are here: you, the valued holidaymakers who bring our campsite to life. You are the beating heart of our community, and it’s your love for adventure, relaxation, and the stunning natural surroundings that make our campsite a special place.

And that’s exactly what we fell in love with when we first visited the campsite in October 2022. The three lakes and those mountains, reflected in “our” lake. Let us explain: as soon as you have been to the first beach on the first lake from the campsite once, it feels like it’s yours: direct access to the lake from the campsite. Moreover, it’s super relaxed there and you can enjoy it in your own way.

After the necessary French administrative hassle, we were finally able to call ourselves the new owners of Camping Les Ecolodges des 3 Lacs from 30 May 2023 onwards. The season had already started, so we could get started right away. First, we left everything as it was after the necessary cleaning and tidying up. And what fun we had that first summer: the guests, you, were extremely nice and it was fantastic to see how you enjoyed yourselves. We also received very nice tips and there were guests passing through, but who stopped by us on the way back. There was also a couple with a camper for 1, at most 2 nights… they ended up staying for 10 nights. Once, Bianca saw a female guest getting into Rachid’s car. She thought for a moment “What’s going on?”… This lady wanted to know where the greengrocer was and Rachid also needed some vitamins himself, so they went together for a little trip.

The other faces behind the campsite who are at your service: We are Rachid Julien, born and raised in Riom (not far from Clermont-Ferrand in Auvergne) and Bianca de Rooy, born and raised in Barneveld (not far from Amersfoort in the Netherlands). We met on the terrace in Amersoort, where she worked as a waitress and he was a customer. He had to wait a long time for his drink because she was terribly shy. Fortunately, on a beautiful day during the annual Latino festival in Amersfoort, it was clear that the spark was mutual. And so our adventure, which has been going on for almost 25 years now, began and we hope it will last at least another 25 years.

Our two sons Lino (2004) and Matis (2007) wanted to further develop their rugby talents in France. This is going very well. Lino now plays for Racing 92 and is selected for the French rugby team U20. Matis plays for USON in Nevers and the FFR often asks him for selection days.

For them, a dream is coming true: to play rugby at a high level. That’s why a long-cherished dream began to tickle us: a campsite in France.

We gave up our certainties of our fixed jobs. Rachid had been working at the Royal Military Academy for a long time and was responsible for all the sports equipment and sports fields. He was also very popular for his spinning classes.

Who knows, maybe you can enjoy his spinning classes on the campsite in the future….

First, we still have a lot of other work to do. Bianca, after many sales jobs, was a long-time Dutch teacher at a secondary school and she is looking forward to organizing a fun bootcamp once everything is up and running on the campsite.

We warmly invite you to book your holidays with us. Our goal is and remains that everyone can enjoy our campsite, the restaurant that borders the campsite, the beautiful nature, the three lakes, Lake Serre Ponçon, the overwhelming view of Mont Colombis and so on. But it seems to us that it would be a better idea to come and experience it all for yourself. We hope to see you soon at Camping Les Ecolodges des 3 Lacs!
